(A) (B)

The war of donut between Japan and America is starting. Lately, donut chain stores appeared in many cities, and eating donuts soon became a smash hit. Mister Donut and Dunkin donut, which are the two famous brands within donut world, start a competition. Mister donut, which has a rave review, makes all the people crazy, Dunkin donut, which American swear by, is all the rage, too. In order to win the war, they made great advertisements to publicize their products.

Compare between the ads above. Take a glance of the first advertisement(A), your notice will no doubt be caught by the cute and lovely Pon De Lion, standing on a flourishing hill with a great sunny day background. In the middle stands the lion, which is bright yellow, show vigor; his tail is like a blooming flower, and the mane are replaced by the best-selling donut──pon de!! This AD uses all bright colors, making the whole picture a vigorous, happy and positive image.

Take a look of the other advertisement(B). Differently, there isn’t any cute doll in the picture; instead, the ad is composed of five identical pieces of comic, in each comic are four pictures, the first one is the map of the U.S, where Dunkin Donut comes from; the second one is a person running; the third is’’on’’, and the last one is DD, which is the abbreviate of ’’Dunkin Donut’’. There aren’t many kinds of color in this ad. However, it is simple and easy to understand.

Look at the first ad(A). The mane of the lion is bit, and on the corner of his mouth some crumbs are found, telling us that he can’t help eating his own mane because of the delicious taste, suggesting how good the donut’s flavor is. The other ad (B) is far more simpler──America runs on Dunkin, showing how important Dunkin donut is in Americans’ life.

These two advertisements seems to be quite different. However, no matter what ways the ads present, their goals are just the same──to catch your attention!
